CCU's AI Stars Shine! Securing NT$860,000 in Grants from MOE U-start and Entrepreneurship Battle

publish date : 2026-04-24

National Chung Cheng University's (CCU) Startup Land reached a new pinnacle in its mentoring success. According to the recently announced results of the Ministry of Education (MOE) innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, two elite teams mentored by Startup Land, "Readii" and "Long Zai Ya," stood out from fierce nationwide competition. They secured major awards in the 2026 "U-start Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program" and the "University Entrepreneurship Battle Simulation Learning Platform," capturing a total of NT$860,000 in entrepreneurial grant funding. This achievement not only showcased the vibrant innovative prowess of CCU students but also fully validated Startup Land’s powerful capabilities in nurturing young entrepreneurial talent.

The winning teams precisely targeted AI technology applications, social innovation, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), perfectly aligning with CCU's vision to cultivate socially responsible young entrepreneurs.

The double-award-winning team, Readii, developed an "AI Learning System Integrating Emotion Sensing and Cognitive Deconstruction," which was specifically designed for students in special education or those with learning disabilities. Positioned as a "digital exoskeleton" for learners, the system minimized cognitive load by identifying emotional states and comprehension "breakpoints" in real-time. It featured a dynamic scaffolding mechanism that alternated between instructional guidance and emotional soothing, breaking down complex knowledge into manageable micro-steps. Furthermore, the system transformed learning histories into quantifiable data to assist with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), effectively bridging the information gap among parents, teachers, and students. Thanks to this socially responsible and cutting-edge application, Readii secured a total of NT$700,000 in funding—comprising NT$500,000 from the U-start Program and NT$200,000 from the Innovation & Start-up Platform.

Another powerhouse team, "Long Zai Ya" (a name derived from the Taiwanese Hokkien phrase for "know it all"), focused on smart disaster prevention. Their "Smart Disaster Prevention App" served as an integrated platform for weather and disaster information. A standout feature was its photo-reporting function, which encouraged community participation to protect one another and bolster regional disaster resilience. Driven by a strong social enterprise spirit, this innovative project successfully earned the team NT$160,000 in subsidies from the Innovation & Start-up Platform.

Behind these brilliant team performances was the potent driving force of Startup Land’s professional mentorship. Startup Land's mission extended beyond providing financial aid; the center emphasized that it provided not just funding assistance, but prioritized the cultivation of an entrepreneurial mindset and professional skills. For these competitions, Startup Land allocated significant resources, arranging for professional industry experts to conduct intensive, one-on-one polishing with the teams. This support covered everything from proposal revisions to pitch deck optimization, helping the teams define their business models. Looking ahead, CCU Startup Land will continue to deeply cultivate the entrepreneurial landscape, promote a culture of campus innovation, and empower young people to transform creativity into a positive force for social change.
