Expanding International Connections through Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: The Center for Language Studies and the AIM-HI Promote Bilingual Education and Chinese Learning Programs
National Chung Cheng University continued to strengthen its bilingual education through international collaboration. Recently, a university delegation led by the Vice President visited the language centers of four leading universities in Thailand. The delegation included Professor and Chair Yong-Song Chen of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Director Gina Wen-Chun Chen of the Center for Language Studies, and Professor Hsin-Hui Chen, Head of the Chinese Language Division. The visit highlighted CCU’s achievements in Chinese language education and bilingual program development, while laying a strong foundation for deeper international collaboration in the future.
This exchange focused on Chinese language education, bilingual education, and the development of cross-disciplinary collaboration, underscoring CCU’s efforts to integrate language education with professional fields. During the trip, the delegation visited the language centers of several prominent Thai universities, including Kasetsart University, Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and Chiang Mai University. These institutions demonstrated diverse and well-established practices in curriculum design, faculty development, and student support, offering meaningful inspiration for CCU’s bilingual education initiatives, the development of its own language center, and its broader internationalization efforts.
Among these institutions, representatives from Chiang Mai University conducted a reciprocal visit to CCU on April 21. Both parties officially engaged in substantive classroom observations and collaborative discussions, further deepening their partnership in language education and international exchange, while marking a new milestone in the relationship between the two universities.
Future cooperation outlined plans for CCU to continue to deepen ties with international higher education institutions and partners, combining language teaching with professional expertise to expand the global reach and impact of its bilingual and Chinese language education.
