National Chung Cheng University Received AED Donation from Honorary Doctor Wen-Tsun Lin, Strengthening Campus Life-Saving Network

publish date : 2026-03-30

To enhance campus safety systems and strengthen emergency response capabilities, National Chung Cheng University (CCU) held an AED Donation Ceremony. The event marked a generous contribution of four Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) from Mr. Wen-Tsun Lin, President of the KAIS Group and an honorary Doctor of Management at CCU.

This donation increased the total number of AED units on campus from 11 to 15, significantly improving the accessibility and distribution of life-saving equipment. The expanded network further reinforced CCU’s commitment to building a safer and more responsive campus environment.

Mr. Wen-Tsun Lin, founder of the KAIS Group, was widely recognized not only for his outstanding leadership in business but also for his long-standing dedication to public service. He initiated the “YI YUN CEO CLUB” to integrate industrial resources across the Yunlin–Chiayi region and served as Director of the Chiayi Branch of the Association for Victims Support. In recognition of his contributions to society and education, CCU awarded him an honorary doctoral degree.

Mr. Wen-Tsun Lin shared that receiving the honorary doctorate deepened his sense of responsibility toward the university. “This donation is not just about providing equipment—it is about safeguarding the dignity of life,” he said. “I hope this effort will continue to inspire a culture of care and readiness across campus.”

On behalf of the university, CCU President Shaw-Jenq Tsai expressed sincere appreciation for Mr. Wen-Tsun Lin’s generosity. President Shaw-Jenq Tsai noted that on a large and densely populated campus, reducing the time required to access emergency equipment was critical to improving survival outcomes. The newly donated AEDs were strategically installed in key locations, including the graduate dormitories, College of Humanities, Center for General Education, and Innovation Building, significantly enhancing emergency response efficiency.

With the total number of AEDs reaching 15, the university also upgraded its Campus AED Safety Map, ensuring that life-saving resources could be quickly located and accessed. Medical research showed that when CPR was administered and an AED was used within the “golden four minutes” following sudden cardiac arrest, survival rates increased dramatically. Thanks to intuitive voice-guided instructions, even individuals without medical training could effectively assist in life-saving efforts.

President Shaw-Jenq Tsai emphasized that Mr. Wen-Tsun Lin exemplified both exceptional business leadership and a deep commitment to social responsibility. This donation represented a meaningful collaboration between the university and the broader community in safeguarding lives.

Looking ahead, CCU will continue to promote a campus culture grounded in safety, well-being, and sustainability. In addition to regularly offering CPR and AED training programs, the university will work alongside community partners like Mr. Wen-Tsun Lin to further strengthen its safety infrastructure and build a resilient, health-conscious campus for all.
