The National Chung Cheng University (CCU) Friends Association held its 2026 Annual Members’ Meeting, Presidential Handover Ceremony, and Annual Awards Presentation on the 10th of January, 2026. Mr. Chin-Tsai Fan, President of the Chiayi City Red Cross, officially assumed the role of the association’s new president, marking a new chapter for the organization. Fan stated that he would uphold the association’s mission of “supporting education and giving back to society” and would do his best to promote the association’s development, unite its members, and continue supporting the growth of National Chung Cheng University.
Speaking about taking on the presidency, Fan admitted that he felt both honored and cautious, as he was well aware of the responsibility that came with the position. Nevertheless, he hoped to bring new momentum to the association by drawing on his extensive experience in civic organizations and public service. Fan previously served as Chairman of the Chiayi City Sports Association, Vice President of the Taiwan Sports Federation, Chairperson of the Chiayi Family Support Center, Chairman of the Chiayi Zhengde Animal Protection Charity Association, President of the Kiwanis Club of Chiayi, Chair of the Penghu-Chiayi-Tainan District of Kiwanis, and President of the Hsin-Kang Lions Club. He currently serves as President of the Chiayi City Red Cross and has long been actively involved in charitable work. He expressed his hope to transform these experiences into a driving force for advancing the association’s activities and supporting the university.
Outgoing president Yung-Shun Jan expressed his gratitude to past presidents, board members, supervisors, and all association members for their collective efforts, which enabled the organization to develop steadily while maintaining a close and positive relationship with National Chung Cheng University. He emphasized that the Friends Association played an important role in supporting the university’s development and accompanying its growth. During his term, he was honored to work alongside many partners who cared deeply about education and the university. Over the past year, the association also donated over one million NT dollars to support various initiatives. Jan also thanked CCU President Shaw-Jenq Tsai for his strong support of the Friends Association and for consistently attending and supporting its events.
Over the past year, the CCU Friends Association organized a variety of activities for its members. These included the “Paint CCU” Parent-Child Sketching Competition, which attracted nearly 1,000 parents and children, as well as active participation in typhoon relief fundraising efforts and donations for the university’s 36th anniversary celebrations. These initiatives not only demonstrated the enthusiasm and unity of the association’s members but also highlighted the meaningful impact the organization had on both the university and the wider community.
President Shaw-Jenq Tsai of National Chung Cheng University also expressed his sincere appreciation for the association’s long-standing support. He noted, “Whether it was for anniversary celebrations, sports events, or university affairs, the CCU Friends Association has always been one of the university’s most steadfast supporters.”
The beginning of the 115th academic year symbolized a new chapter for the CCU Friends Association. Under the leadership of President Chin-Tsai Fan, the association moved forward with greater determination, working together with its members and the university to build an even brighter future.
