To broaden international students’ understanding of Taiwan’s industries and culture, the Office of International Affairs at National Chung Cheng University recently organized the “NCHC Company Visit and Tainan Anping Fort Cultural Exploration.” Led by the head of Division of International Students, Prof. Van-Linh Nguyen, the group visited the Tainan Branch of the National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) and later explored Anping Fort. The program combined insights into Taiwan’s technology sector with historical and cultural experiences, helping students gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s development.

During the visit to NCHC, several keynote talks and guided tours were arranged. Dr. Lee introduced “NCHC Cybersecurity Response, Operations, and Network Monitoring Services,” explaining Taiwan’s mechanisms for cybersecurity incident reporting, real-time monitoring, and cross-agency collaboration. This session helped students understand how national-level network infrastructure is maintained securely and reliably.

Dr. Liu then presented “Next-Generation Network Applications: An Introduction to Content Delivery Networks (CDN),” outlining how distributed nodes and caching technologies improve website speed and stability, and how CDN services are applied in streaming platforms, e-commerce, and large-scale events.

In addition, Dr. Chou introduced “Next-Generation Supercomputer Facilities and Environment” and guided students through the server room on the third floor. By observing high-performance computing systems, temperature control mechanisms, and power backup designs firsthand, students gained a clearer understanding of the crucial role supercomputers play in semiconductor research and AI computing. Through professional briefings and interactive discussions, participants developed a more comprehensive view of Taiwan’s technological strengths and future talent demands.

In the afternoon, the group visited Anping Fort in Tainan. With a professional guide, students explored Taiwan’s historical evolution, multicultural interactions, and maritime trade development. From the Dutch and Spanish colonial periods to modern history, on-site exploration and storytelling enabled students to appreciate Taiwan’s society and cultural heritage from multiple perspectives.

This event integrated industry exposure with cultural experience. It not only enhanced international students’ awareness of Taiwan’s technological capabilities but also strengthened their confidence in pursuing long-term development in Taiwan. The Office of International Affairs will continue to organize diverse industry visits and cultural exploration programs to deepen international students’ professional connections and local engagement.
