publish date : 2025-10-29

To celebrate the 36th anniversary of National Chung Cheng University (CCU), the university hosted an "Overseas Alumni Online Birthday Party" on October 28 from 7 PM to 8 PM. The event allowed overseas alumni, unable to return to campus for various reasons, to join the festivities through an online platform, celebrate their alma mater's birthday, and strengthen bonds among the global alumni community.
The event attracted alumni from all over the world, including alumni from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Egypt, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates, who joined the celebration online.

The event kicked off in a warm atmosphere with an opening address from President Tsai Shaw-Jenq, who expressed his gratitude to the alumni worldwide. "The campus was severely damaged by a typhoon this July," said President Tsai, "but thanks to the concerted efforts of all our faculty and students, along with donations and support from numerous alumni and various sectors of society, the campus was quickly restored. Gathering together online demonstrates the unwavering solidarity and deep affection the CCU community has for our alma mater. We hope this unity will continue to be a driving force for National Chung Cheng University's progress."

The event began with the screening of a video titled "Typhoon Retrospective and Rebirth." The film guided the faculty, students, and particularly overseas alumni through the shocking scenes of the campus devastation caused by the July typhoon and the subsequent restoration process. It featured footage of students and faculty working together to clear fallen trees and repair facilities, as well as touching moments of enthusiastic donations and support from alumni and community groups, vividly documenting the CCU community’s spirit and actions of "standing strong against the wind."

In addition to the video, there was an interactive session for attending alumni and university officials. Alumni reminisced about their past experiences and reconnected with each other through engaging activities. This online birthday party allowed overseas alumni to feel the warmth of their alma mater while deepening the emotional connection among CCU members worldwide. As National Chung Cheng University enters its 37th year, it will continue to work hand-in-hand with its alumni to create a brighter future together.
