publish date : 2025-09-24

Chiayi, Taiwan — National Chung Cheng University (CCU) warmly welcomed a distinguished delegation from Japan’s Tottori University on September 19, 2025, further solidifying the partnership the two institutions established earlier this year.
Leading the visitors were Tottori University President Prof. Tasuku Harada and Vice President Prof. Seiji Kageyama. They were received by CCU President Prof. Shaw-Jenq Tsai, underscoring both universities’ strong commitment to collaboration in education, research, and student exchange.
The relationship between the two institutions began in April 2025, when President Tsai, at President Harada’s invitation, visited Tottori University. During that visit, the universities signed a letter of intent and launched multi-faceted exchanges in academics, research, and student mobility. This return visit by Tottori’s senior leadership marks a new stage of concrete action in their partnership.
The day’s program opened with a formal meeting in CCU’s Administration Building, where President Tsai delivered a welcome address, followed by remarks from President Harada and other honored guests. Representatives from CCU’s Office of International Affairs, College of Science, College of Engineering, and the Extension Education & e-Learning Center presented the university’s strengths and research highlights.
The delegation also toured the CCU Library, the Earthquake Museum, the Education Center for Prevention of Drug Abuse, and the Research Center on Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability—showcasing CCU’s dedication to disaster preparedness, social responsibility, and cutting-edge innovation.
Looking ahead, CCU and Tottori University plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a student exchange agreement, laying the groundwork for a long-term, robust partnership that will create more international academic and exchange opportunities for faculty and students alike.
