On May 20, 2025, National Chung Cheng University (CCU) warmly welcomed a delegation from its Indonesian sister institution, the Faculty of Education at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ). The visit marked a significant step in strengthening academic and research collaborations, laying a solid foundation for future bilateral cooperation.

The delegation, led by Dr. Henny Herawaty of UNJ, comprised two faculty members and three students. On behalf of CCU, the delegation was received by Dr. Victoria Rau, Dean of International Affairs, and Dr. Teddy Sim from the Center for Language Studies. Five Indonesian students currently studying at CCU, including Francesca, Jocelyn, Caroline, Lawrensius, Naysa, were also invited to participate in the exchange, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering an internationalized campus environment.

The event began with Dr. Sim presenting the background and outcomes of the recent online course co-hosted by CCU and UNJ, titled “Austronesian Migration and Cultural Linkages between Taiwan and Indonesia.” Following this, the five Indonesian students shared their personal experiences of studying and living at CCU, offering a vivid and diverse portrait of international student life. The Office of International Affairs then delivered an institutional briefing, highlighting future areas of collaboration such as student exchange programs, doctoral studies, joint research, and community engagement initiatives—underscoring both institutions’ shared vision for deepened academic exchange.

This visit served as more than just a cultural and academic dialogue; it symbolized the mutual commitment of both universities to cultivating globally minded talents. The UNJ delegation expressed sincere appreciation for CCU’s warm hospitality and conveyed strong interest in pursuing further substantive cooperation, including joint course development, faculty and researcher exchanges, and collaborative academic projects. Together, both institutions aim to initiate a series of educational and research partnerships that will shape a new chapter in Taiwan–Indonesia higher education relations.
