Darmawan Utomo: From CCU to Professor and Dean
Darmawan Utomo, a distinguished CCU alumnus from the PhD program in Computer Science, has been serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UKSW since November 2022. His outstanding contributions to the field of deep learning have earned him the prestigious title of Professor (Guru Besar), which will be officially conferred upon him in an inauguration ceremony on February 27, 2025. His dedication to research and education continues to inspire students and faculty alike.
Priska Lydia Sulistyawati Pulungan: Bridging Pedagogy and Leadership in Health Sciences
Priska Lydia Sulistyawati Pulungan, a graduate of CCU’s PhD program in Educational Leadership and Management Development (ELMD), has recently been appointed as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UKSW. Her appointment, effective from January 22, 2025, marks a significant step in integrating her expertise in pedagogy with leadership in higher education. As a faculty member in the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Department, she has been instrumental in teaching pedagogical courses. Now, as Vice Dean, she has the opportunity to put her studies in educational leadership and management development into practice, contributing to the strategic growth of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Both alumni exemplify the excellence of CCU graduates in academia and leadership, showcasing the impact of CCU’s education on the global stage. Since 2019, UKSW and CCU have been holding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), fostering academic collaboration between the two institutions. Darmawan and Priska are two UKSW faculty members who have been part of this MoU, studying at CCU as part of this academic partnership. Their achievements highlight the ongoing success of this collaboration, paving the way for further joint initiatives in the future. Their achievements not only bring pride to their alma mater but also contribute significantly to the growth and development of UKSW.
