Program Grant for Recruiting Foreign Youth to Taiwan: Office of International Affairs at National Chung Cheng University Receives Nearly NT$16 Million

In order to expand its reach and attract outstanding young students from around the globe,
particularly from the United States and Central and Eastern European countries, for short-term
internships in Taiwan, aiming to further their understanding of Taiwan's educational and academic
resources and to encourage them to consider Taiwan for future studies or employment, the Ministry
of Education has launched the "Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP)". This program,
awarded to National Chung Cheng University, received the highest subsidy among all higher
education institutions in the country, amounting to NT$15,834,000, achieving remarkable success in
international academic cooperation.
The Office of International Affairs at National Chung Cheng University stated that in the academic
years 112 to 113, the TEEP program primarily recruited outstanding young students from abroad to
conduct research exchanges on campus. The focus areas for residency include six core strategic
industries and the 5+2 Industrial Innovation Program. The maximum duration of residency in Taiwan
is 6 months, with the latest entry date being December 31, year 113.
Regarding the areas of focus, the Office of International Affairs pointed out that the six core strategic
industries include "Information and Digital", "Cybersecurity", "Precision Health in Taiwan", "Green

Machinery", "Asia Silicon Valley", "Green Technology", "Biomedical Industry", "National Defense
Industry", "New Agriculture", and "Circular Economy".
Furthermore, the Office of International Affairs mentioned that the College of Engineering has
successfully hosted over 200 foreign students over the years. Many outstanding students have chosen
to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the
Advanced Manufacturing Systems Degree Program after completing the residency program, bringing
new vitality to the college and enhancing National Chung Cheng University's influence on the
international academic stage.
The International Affairs Office stated that due to the active participation of faculty members from
the College of Engineering, the College of Science, and the College of Education, National Chung
Cheng University has successfully obtained the highest subsidy nationwide. The university will
continue to promote the TEEP program to strengthen international exchanges, attract more
outstanding young students from abroad to study in Taiwan, jointly establish a cross-border academic
network, and further enhance the university's academic reputation and influence worldwide.
