publish date : 2026-09-29

The 115th K-12 International Education Showcase, organized by the K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education, and hosted by the Graduate Institute of Education at National Chung Cheng University, was held on October 14, 2026, at the Chiayi County Bonbon Brick Hotel. With the theme "The World as Our Partner: Educational Practices for Intercultural Learning and a Sustainable Future," the event brought together approximately 200 education practitioners, scholars, experts, and other participants. Through presentations on international exchanges and educational achievements, the event aimed to facilitate the sharing of international education experiences and showcase the diverse practices of international education in Taiwan's K-12 schools.

The event was organized in accordance with the K-12 International Education Mid-Term Development Plan, with the vision of "Connecting with the World and Linking to the Globe." Through cross-national interaction and professional exchange, the event sought to strengthen professional competencies in K-12 international exchange, facilitate the sharing of school-based practices and experiences, and further enhance the effectiveness of international education initiatives.

The opening ceremony featured remarks by Chung-Wei Hsieh, Senior Executive Officer of the Division of Indigenous and Special Education, K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education; Mei-Hua Li, Director-General of the Education Department, Chiayi County Government; and Sheng-Ju Chan, Vice President of National Chung Cheng University, who jointly welcomed participants and officially launched the event.

The morning program featured "International Student Exchange Presentations" and "International Teacher Curriculum Exchange Presentations." New Taipei Municipal Banqiao Senior High School shared its international exchange experience with its partner school in the United States, while National Hsin-Feng Senior High School presented its collaboration with a partner school in the Philippines. In addition, Tainan Municipal Simen Experimental Elementary School shared its curriculum exchange experience with a partner school in Canada, while Taichung Municipal Hui-Wen High School Junior High Division presented its collaboration with a partner school in Thailand. These presentations highlighted innovative teaching practices and learning outcomes developed through international collaboration.

The afternoon program focused on the "International Educational Exchange Showcase by International Education Centers and the Primary and Secondary School International Educational Exchange Alliance." International Education Centers and international education exchange alliances from different cities and counties presented their achievements and shared their distinctive approaches to promoting international education. Through exhibitions and on-site presentations, participants had opportunities to learn from one another and exchange practical experiences.

Professor Sheng-Yao Cheng of the Graduate Institute of Education at National Chung Cheng University, Principal Investigator of the project, stated that international education is not simply about taking students abroad; more importantly, it provides opportunities for students to engage in authentic cross-cultural interactions, understand different cultures and perspectives, and develop the abilities to communicate, collaborate, and respond to global issues. He looked forward to fostering more innovative approaches to international education through the sharing and exchange of experiences, enabling international education to become more deeply integrated into school curricula and classroom practices.

Through four key dimensions—student exchange, teacher collaboration, achievement showcases, and professional dialogue—the event connected international education practices from different regions and deepened international exchange and collaboration within the education community. Together, participants worked toward the vision of "Connecting with the World and Linking to the Globe."
