To meet the rising demand for skilled professionals, the Qingjiang Extension Education and Digital Learning Center (Qingjiang Learning Center) launched two industry-oriented training programs: the "Fundamentals of Semiconductor and AI Applications" program, commissioned by the Chiayi County Government, and the "Professional Drone Industry Applications and Operations Training Program," funded under the Ministry of Labor’s Industrial Talent Development Program. The two programs hosted their achievement showcases and job fairs on September 8 and September 10, respectively.

Featuring project presentations, interactive demonstrations, and direct networking with potential employers, the events showcased participants' achievements while bridging the gap between talent and industry employment opportunities.

Both showcases commenced with opening remarks from the Director of the Qingjiang Learning Center. Officials from the Chiayi County Government’s Labor and Youth Development Department also attended the semiconductor program showcase to show their support. The Department Director emphasized that Chiayi’s semiconductor landscape extended far beyond TSMC, noting that the expanding supply chain, affiliated enterprises, and component suppliers were expected to generate abundant regional employment opportunities.

Diverging from traditional vocational training, both programs featured specialized curricula and intensive training hours. The 280-hour semiconductor program addressed front-end and back-end manufacturing processes, advanced packaging, IC reliability, and other technical topics. The drone program was even more rigorous, totaling 353 training hours. Alongside fundamental flight operations, participants received practical instruction in aerial photography, agricultural applications, exterior cleaning, and other real-world scenarios.

During the semiconductor showcase, the lead instructor outlined the curriculum and learning outcomes before guiding visitors through project displays and live demonstrations. Participants presented their findings through interactive exhibits and poster sessions. At the drone event, an industry expert from Ao Xiang Technology led live flight demonstrations. Several trainees had already earned professional drone operator certifications during the program, proving its practical effectiveness.

Crucially, both events brought corporate recruiters directly to the training site to present company profiles and active job openings. Through face-to-face interviews and recruitment sessions, participants gained clear insights into industry trends, job roles, and hiring expectations. Simultaneously, employers directly evaluated the technical competencies and potential that trainees had cultivated.

The Director of the Qingjiang Learning Center noted that such training initiatives were historically hosted primarily by academic departments. However, as part of National Chung Cheng University’s dedication to lifelong learning and regional talent cultivation, the university actively extended its academic expertise, state-of-the-art facilities, and educational resources beyond campus to empower key industries across the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan region.

Moving forward, the Qingjiang Learning Center aims to strengthen multi-sector partnerships across government, academia, and industry to design customized training programs aligned with employer workforce needs. By fostering skilled local talent, the Center continues to drive regional industrial transformation and foster sustainable employment opportunities in Chiayi.
