National Chung Cheng University (CCU) grandly held its opening ceremony for the 115th academic year on September 3, 2026. President Shaw-Jenq Tsai personally attended the ceremony, leading faculty members in welcoming approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate freshmen to the CCU family. Gathering young scholars from all departments, the warm orientation ceremony officially marked the beginning of their vibrant university learning journey.

To help incoming freshmen quickly integrate into campus life, CCU specially planned a rich series of "Freshman Week" orientation and guidance activities. In addition to the official opening ceremony held on the morning of September 3, the university arranged diverse programs including campus tours, library resource introductions, departmental orientation seminars, and a student club fair. Notably, this year's opening ceremony invited the "Rose Tomb Band" for the first time to promote life education. Founded by Dr. Su Shih-Yang, an attending physician in the Emergency Department of Tainan Municipal Hospital, along with music-loving partners, the band transformed true stories of life, death, regrets, family bonds, and love witnessed in emergency and palliative care wards into moving musical creations, bringing profound reflection on life to the freshmen.

In his address during the ceremony, President Shaw-Jenq Tsai stated that university is not only a hall of professional knowledge, but also a crucial stage for shaping independent thinking and broadening horizons. He encouraged every freshman to embrace Recognition by clearly understanding their own interests and strengths to anchor themselves in academic fields and develop independent thinking; to pursue Revolution by breaking conventions, actively engaging in cross-disciplinary learning and club activities, and daring to explore various possibilities; and to cultivate Resilience when facing challenges, transforming every setback into nourishment for enhancing personal competitiveness and engaging in community service. With its exceptional faculty, well-established teaching facilities, and spacious, beautiful green campus, CCU would serve as a strong and solid backing for all students, accompanying them as they bravely step into the future.

Following the successful conclusion of the opening ceremony, courses and various orientation counseling sessions for the 115th academic year at CCU were fully underway.
