On July 28, 2026, National Chung Cheng University (CCU) welcomed a delegation of 37 representatives from 14 higher education institutions in Thailand. During the visit, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the International Industry Talent Education Special Program (INTENSE Program), higher education collaboration, university–industry partnerships, and international talent development, further strengthening academic ties between Taiwan and Thailand.

The delegation included representatives from 14 Thai universities, including Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, Khon Kaen University, Kasetsart University, Thammasat University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, Srinakharinwirot University, Burapha University, and other leading institutions. Ten of the visiting universities are CCU's partner institutions. The delegation comprised vice presidents, deans, associate deans, department chairs, professors, and international affairs administrators, representing expertise in engineering, science, information technology, materials science, chemistry, environmental studies, and university–industry collaboration.

CCU President Prof. Shaw-Jenq Tsai, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the University and noted that the visit would not only further strengthen partnerships with CCU's existing partner universities, but also create new opportunities for collaboration with other leading Thai institutions through the INTENSE Program. He reaffirmed CCU's commitment to working closely with industry and international partners to cultivate globally competitive talent while promoting long-term collaboration in education, research, student mobility, and talent development.

The exchange session was chaired by Prof. Victoria Rau, Vice President for International Affairs, who introduced the representatives from both sides. This was followed by a presentation delivered by Prof. Yong-Song Chen, Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, on the achievements of CCU's International Master Program in Smart Manufacturing. Established and continuously developed under the leadership of Senior Vice President Prof. Her-Terng Yau, the program has become one of CCU's flagship initiatives for international talent cultivation by integrating university–industry collaboration, corporate internships, and cross-border education. Participants also exchanged views on curriculum design, student development, industrial internships, university–industry collaboration, and future cooperation models. Following the meeting, the delegation toured CCU's laboratories and teaching and research facilities to gain a deeper understanding of the University's research strengths and talent cultivation achievements.

The visit was one of the key activities of the 2026 Thailand Faculty Delegation Visit to Taiwan for the International Industry Talent Education Special Program. It not only showcased CCU's accomplishments in cultivating international industry talent, but also further expanded its collaborative network with Thai higher education institutions. Looking ahead, CCU will continue to integrate its academic strengths, industry resources, and global partnerships to promote more substantive collaborations and cultivate professionals equipped with academic excellence, international perspectives, and practical industry experience, thereby further advancing higher education cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand.
