Chiayi Municipal Stadium and CCU’s Department of Athletic Sports Sign MOU for Sports Science and Industry Research Base

The Chiayi Municipal Stadium and the Department of Athletic Sports at National Chung Cheng University (CCU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a "Sports Science and Industry Research Base" this morning, marking a new milestone in promoting sports science, talent cultivation, and industrial integration. This collaboration combined resources from industry, government, and academia to build a sports development platform that possessed both academic depth and practical value, injecting new momentum into Chiayi City’s competitive performance, public health, and urban sports governance.

A Strategic Approach to Sports Development

The steady growth of Chiayi City’s regular exercise culture was due to long-term investment in public sports development. In response to national sports policy trends, the Chiayi Municipal Stadium partnered with CCU to introduce expertise in sports science and management, aiming to strengthen competitive sports with precise training support and systematic resource integration. Furthermore, cultivating local sports industry analysis and management talent helped advance the city's sports development to a higher level.

Integrating Academic Energy and Practical Fieldwork

In this partnership, CCU provided academic research capabilities, while the Chiayi Municipal Stadium provided venues and administrative support. The research base was established at the Chiayi City Stadium. The technical team integrated professional fields such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, management, health, communication, and technological physical fitness testing to provide diverse services that optimized training, gradually building a scientific and institutionalized sports support system. In addition to assisting frontline training and improving competition performance, the project also covered sports management aspects, including sports broadcasting, industrial context analysis, brand sponsorship, and title collaborations, strengthening the professional energy of Chiayi City's sports industrial chain.

Building a Sustainable Sports Future

Beyond focusing on enhancing competitive performance and sports management efficiency, the Chiayi Municipal Stadium also aimed to promote citizen physical fitness testing and accumulate local sports data to cultivate a scientific foundation for public health. Through this collaboration, the city embodied more professional scientific governance and policy value in Chiayi citizens’ sports, continued to deepen the sports atmosphere, increased the number of active participants, and shaped a more competitive, forward-looking, and sustainable urban sports landscape.
