CCU Welcomes Sports Tokens: Premier Jung-tai Cho Inspected and Experienced the Initiative, Encouraging National Sports Consumption
To promote the Ministry of Sports' "Sports Tokens" policy and drive national sports participation and consumption, Premier Jung-tai Cho, Spokesperson Hui-chi Li, and Deputy Minister of Sports Chi-huang Huang—accompanied by Chiayi County Magistrate Chang-liang Weng, Legislators Yi-yu Tsai and Kuan-ting Chen, and Executive Director Mi-shan Liu of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Regional Service Center—visited the National Chung Cheng University (CCU) Sports Center on the afternoon of March 1. They gained a practical understanding of how partnered stores used Sports Tokens and personally participated in campus fitness experiences, demonstrating the determination of central and local governments to jointly promote healthy living and the development of the sports industry.
CCU stated that the Ministry of Sports transformed "Youth Dynamism Vouchers" into "Sports Tokens" starting in early 2026. This policy incentive aimed to lower the threshold for sports consumption, expand the participating population, and promote the diversified development of the sports industry. Sports Tokens were applied to categories such as "doing sports," "watching games," and "buying equipment," shaping a more convenient sports consumption environment.
After arriving at the CCU Gymnasium, Premier Cho was briefed by Vice President Hsin-yuan Hung, Secretary General Ai-tzu Li, and Sports Center Director Jun-ru Liao on the gymnasium facilities and the Sports Token cooperation plan. The Premier visited the Sports Story House and personally experienced stretching and weight training courses, encouraging the public to use Sports Tokens to take the first step into sports venues. The course was led by Assistant Professor Bo-han Chang from the Department of Athletic Performance, conveying the concept of a "healthy, leisure, and sustainable" sports life.
The CCU Sports Center also announced additional rewards to complement the policy: "You Come to Exercise, We Give Extra!" If the public spent 240 Sports Tokens in a single transaction at the gymnasium, they received one additional admission ticket. The center pointed out that it hoped to make sports a daily routine for more people through visible and practical feedback.
The university also emphasized that campus sports venues were important bases for promoting national sports. Through policy resources and collaboration, CCU not only served the public but also vitalized university sports facilities. In the future, the university would continue to provide more complete sports experiences through diverse courses and friendly services to build a "Healthy Taiwan" together with the government.
