National Chung Cheng University Hip-Hop Dance Team Secured Runner-Up Title at the Year 114 College High Classic Team Battle
The National Chung Cheng University (CCU) Hip-Hop Dance Team, with its unwavering perseverance and exceptional dance skills, proudly achieved the National Runner-Up (2nd Place) title in the Hip-Hop Team Battle at the Year 114 "College High National University Street Dance Summit / Classic Team Battle." This honor was not only the highest recognition of the team's strength but also established a brilliant reputation for CCU, perfectly embodying the event's motto: "No College High, No College Life."
The CCU Hip-Hop Dance Team's road to the runner-up position was the ultimate demonstration of rising from setbacks and constantly achieving self-breakthroughs. It was reported that the club had been eliminated just outside the top eight last year by a narrow margin of 0.1 points. This deep-seated feeling of unwillingness to yield became the powerful driving force for the entire team's rigorous training. During both summer breaks and academic terms, the dancers often sacrificed countless nights for demanding practice sessions. Even when physically exhausted, soaked in sweat, and facing injuries, they held firm to their conviction, locking their focus on achieving excellent results this year.
Carrying the weight of last year’s regret and unfulfilled ambitions, the CCU Hip-Hop Dance Team once again traveled from Minxiong, Chiayi to Taipei, stepping onto the pinnacle stage of national universities. The club members successfully fought their way through the competition, immediately demonstrating top-tier skill in the preliminary stages by securing the Group A Championship and advancing to the Top 8. Subsequently, in the highly demanding "Team Elimination Battle (Team SKIP)" format—which rigorously tested quick reaction and endurance—the team overcame strong opponents, successfully reaching the Top 4, and ultimately clinched the commendable National Runner-Up prize in the final round.
This National Runner-Up honor was no accidental miracle or stroke of luck. It was solidly built upon the strenuous efforts of every member who persevered, perfectly embodying the core founding principles of College High: "Unity, Sharing, Honor, and Heritage." The glory of College High remained the ultimate goal for university street dancers nationwide. The back-fastened cap printed with "National Supremacy" served as a symbol forged through intense refinement, and the purple-and-gold pennant was regarded as the most meaningful club display. This unending journey toward "National Supremacy" continued to inspire the team.
Having secured the national runner-up title, the team was poised for an even greater challenge. The Year 115 Taiwan Comprehensive University Alliance (TCUA) CHCW Cup was scheduled to be hosted by National Chung Cheng University. Taking advantage of the home court, the team members vowed to transform their passion and skill into momentum to fight for the first-place title in the street dance category. They aimed to let the whole nation witness the strength and passion of National Chung Cheng University as CCU continued to grow stronger.
The CCU Hip-Hop Dance Team extended its sincere gratitude to the organizer, the Chinese Taipei Street Dance Association, all participating universities, the elite global street dance judging panel, and the Student Affairs Division's Extracurricular Activities Section for providing funding and encouraging their development. The team vowed to carry this honor and the conviction that they could still be stronger, continuously improving their dance skills and bringing more glory to the university in the future.
