The College of Humanities at National Chung Cheng University (CCU) held the “World Top 100 Humanities International Distinguished Lecture” on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Professor Kim Young-jin, President of the Korean Society of Classical Chinese Literature and Professor in the Department of Classical Chinese Literature at Sungkyunkwan University, delivered the keynote speech.

Professor Kim is a leading scholar with profound achievements in East Asian Sinology and textual studies. Representing both the Department of Classical Chinese Literature and the Department of History at Sungkyunkwan University, he joined CCU’s Department of Chinese Literature and Department of History in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

During this visit, Professor Kim led a delegation from the Korean Society of Classical Chinese Literature, including scholars from Sungkyunkwan University, Pusan National University, Hanyang University, the Academy of Korean Studies, Inha University, and the University of Ulsan. Together with the Department of Chinese Literature at National Taiwan University, the Department of Korean Language and Culture at National Chengchi University, and CCU’s College of Humanities, they co-hosted the “The Korean Society of Classical Chinese Literature Winter International Conference.”

The event gathered more than 70 scholars from Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, China, and other East Asian regions. Dean Mao Wen-fang of CCU’s College of Humanities delivered a keynote address, and six CCU faculty members presented research papers, demonstrating the university’s strong academic presence and engagement with current global scholarly trends.

National Chung Cheng University once again achieved remarkable results in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and continues to receive support from the Ministry of Education’s “World Top 100” initiative. The College of Humanities remains committed to advancing research excellence and promoting inter-university and international collaboration, thereby enhancing the university’s global visibility and influence.
