publish date : 2025-10-27

To enhance Taiwan’s higher education capacity for promoting University Social Responsibility (USR) and to foster cross-university collaboration and resource sharing, Professor Hui-Ling Shih, Executive Director of the CCU Office of University Social Responsibility, and Vice Dean Lung-Chuan Lu, Deputy Director of the Office, visited the Center for University Social Responsibility, Ministry of Education (USR Promotion Center) on Thursday, October 23, 2025. The meeting focused on exchanging ideas regarding the philosophy, framework, and operational model of the USR Alliance.
The visit aimed to strengthen consensus on the long-term vision and cooperative mechanisms of the USR Alliance. Initiated by National Chung Cheng University (CCU), the Alliance upheld the core spirit of Co-Learning, Co-Creation, and Co-Prosperity, establishing a cross-institutional platform that connected universities across Taiwan, integrated USR project resources, and advanced regional revitalization and social sustainability.
Professor Hui-Ling Shih emphasized that CCU aspired to make the USR Alliance a model of collaboration built upon unity, resource sharing, mutual benefit, and expanded social impact—positioning USR not only as a driver of institutional development but also as a sustainable force for regional co-growth and social innovation.
During the exchange, the USR Promotion Center and CCU discussed the Alliance’s organizational structure, operational model, and mechanisms for resource linkage. The dialogue also covered topics such as national-level USR strategies, cross-disciplinary co-learning programs, and social impact assessment, jointly outlining a nationwide roadmap for advancing university social responsibility.
The CCU Office of University Social Responsibility noted that it would continue to deepen collaboration with the USR Promotion Center and partner universities within the Alliance, reinforcing cross-campus integration and exchange to build a more robust and influential USR ecosystem—fulfilling education’s mission of creating positive social change.
