Chung Cheng University Through the Lens
What did Chung Cheng look like in your eyes in the late summer breeze?
Was it the row of trees swaying in the wind as you first entered the campus? Was it the tranquil path in the back mountains? Or perhaps the serene lake reflected the morning light of university life?
To capture these initial encounters and heartbeats, the Student Affairs Office's Extracurricular Activities Division at National Chung Cheng University hosted a photography competition titled "Through the Lens: A New Chapter of Chung Cheng." They invited freshmen who enrolled in the fall semester of the 114th academic year to seek out their first memories of the campus through their lenses from September 8 to October 5.
The Extracurricular Activities Division stated that all new students, whether undergraduate, master's, or doctoral, could participate. The theme was "Through the Lens: Chung Cheng," and participants could capture natural scenery, cultural moments, event documentation, or even landmarks around the campus. The submission specifications were noted in the registration guidelines and could be filled out online (https://extra.ccu.edu.tw/p/404-1035-59812.php?Lang=zh-tw).
The competition consisted of two phases. In the first phase, ten finalists would be selected through online voting. In the second phase, the top five entries would be selected by a panel formed by two professional judges. The first-place winner would receive NT$3,000, the second place NT$2,000, and the third place NT$1,000, each also accompanied by a certificate.
The Extracurricular Activities Division invited every new student to use their camera to see the sounds, lights, and human connections of the campus. May these images remain as clear and bright as those initial encounters when looking back in the future.
