Enhancing Financial Education: National Chung Cheng University Partners with Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance
National Chung Cheng University (CCU) and the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) formalized their partnership on March 18th through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signifying a mutual commitment to resource sharing and the advancement of financial education. The MOU was jointly signed by CCU President Shaw-Jenq Tsai and TABF Dean Yi-Cheng Kao.
The signing ceremony was attended by several distinguished representatives, including Director Hsiao-Chien Tsui of CCU’s Ching-Jiang Extension Education and e-Learning Center (hereinafter "Ching-Jiang Center"), Director Wen-Chang Lin of the CCU Master Program in Financial Technology, Associate Dean Chung-Wei Lin of TABF, Council Member Han Zheng of TABF, as well as Senior Directors Qing-Yuan Fu (Financial Inclusion Department) and Wan-Hsin Huang (Training Department) from TABF.
According to the terms of the MOU, CCU may recommend qualified faculty members to join the teaching, advisory, and research talent pool of TABF, thereby strengthening the link between academia and industry. Meanwhile, the academy will also recommend industry experts to the university for co-teaching or specialized mentoring, and provide financial career aptitude assessments and employment counseling services for students. These efforts aim to help students better understand industry trends and make informed career plans. CCU students will also be granted priority access to on-campus professional certification services provided by TABF, enabling them to take financial certification exams directly at the university and improve their competitiveness in the job market.
Hsiao-Chien Tsui, Director of the Ching-Jiang Center at CCU, who facilitated this collaboration, stated that TABF is responsible for financial personnel training and research nationwide. She noted that, in recent years, fostering inclusive financial education has become an educational priority at all levels. As the first initiative under the new MOU, the Ching-Jiang Center, the College of Management, and TABF will jointly develop a program to train professional seed instructors. CCU will lead the development of the promotion plan, while TABF will provide curriculum and administrative support. The joint effort aims to establish and promote a financial services camp tailored to the Chiayi region.
President Shaw-Jenq Tsai of CCU emphasized the university’s longstanding commitment to cross-disciplinary education and industry-academia collaboration. He remarked that the newly established partnership with TABF is expected to yield substantial benefits for students. Given the rapid evolution of the financial sector, President Tsai underscored the importance of not only delivering rigorous theoretical instruction but also integrating practical, industry-aligned experiences to equip students with a competitive edge before graduation.
Dean Yi-Cheng Kao of TABF noted that Taiwan’s financial market is integrating with global markets at an accelerating pace. Whether in digital transformation or green finance, the industry increasingly requires financial professionals with both global vision and technical expertise. Through this collaboration with CCU, TABF aims to bring industry resources to campus, enabling students to engage with real-world trends early in their studies and fostering the development of market-ready financial talent.
TABF has offices in Taichung and Kaohsiung, with its services extending across Taiwan. Now, with a new collaborative unit established in Chiayi, the partnership is expected to have a profound impact on technological and financial education in the region. It will also play a tangible role in promoting financial education and enhancing financial literacy in schools across Changhua, Yunlin, and Chiayi. Looking ahead, both parties will continue to strengthen their collaboration by cultivating financial professionals equipped with global perspectives and practical expertise. Through industry-academia integration, career counseling, and educational outreach, the initiative aims to inject renewed energy into the advancement of financial education in Taiwan.
