Chung Cheng University USR Empowerment Lecture: Leveraging Media to Amplify Social Impact
On January 3, 2025, Chung Cheng University (CCU) hosted the “USR Empowerment Lecture—Leveraging Media to Amplify University Influence” in the briefing room on the third floor of the Administration Building. The lecture featured Mr. Chien-Hsing Lee, Editor-in-Chief of Global Views Monthly, who was invited by CCU Vice President Dr. Shin-Yuan Hung. The session embodied the spirit of the Global Views USR Awards by integrating elements of ESG, sustainable development, and talent cultivation, attracting a large number of faculty, staff, and students.
Participants included key university members, such as Dr. Long-Chuan Lu, Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Lee-Young Cheng, Associate Dean; Dr. Ming-Chang Cheng, Professor in the Department of Business Administration; Dr. Ai-Tzu Li, Secretary General; Dr. Huey-Ling Shee, Professor in the Department of Law; Dr. Hui-Chen Fang, Assistant Professor in the College of Management; Dr. Wen-Chun Chen, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature; and Dr. Der-Hua Victoria Rau, Professor in the Graduate Institute of Linguistics.
Drawing on his extensive experience, Editor-in-Chief Lee delivered an in-depth analysis of media marketing strategies. He shared insights on crafting compelling content and leveraging social media to enhance the university’s brand. By aligning with CCU’s USR initiatives, he illustrated how media can effectively convey core values and promote sustainable development goals. He emphasized that media is more than just a communication platform, it is a catalyst for societal change.
The lecture also highlighted CCU’s ongoing efforts to enhance social responsibility awareness among faculty, staff, and students through USR empowerment activities. By improving the effectiveness of its initiatives, the university aligns with the 2025 Sixth Global Views University Social Responsibility Awards, laying a solid foundation to compete for this prestigious recognition in the future.
