National Chung Cheng University, Tzu Chi Foundation, Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital, and Tzu Chi University signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly promote academic and charitable development

On the afternoon of December 12, 2024, National Chung Cheng University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital, and the Tzu Chi University of the Tzu Chi Education Foundation at National Chung Cheng University. The signing ceremony was jointly presided over by National Chung Cheng University President Shaw-Jenq Tsai, Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation CEO Bo-Wen Yan, Tzu Chi University President Yi-Chun Liu, and Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital Director Ning-Sheng Lai.

National Chung Cheng University has long-standing and close cooperation with Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital. This time, with the addition of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation and Tzu Chi University, the collaboration will not only continue the existing academic research and talent cultivation programs but also mark a new benchmark in the close cooperation between National Chung Cheng University and Tzu Chi's charity, medical, and educational undertakings through the signing of this memorandum.

Regarding the Tzu Chi Charity Foundation, future cooperation will be based on the principle of reciprocity, focusing on charity life education, international youth, practical courses, and digital technology education. Through action plans, in-depth cooperation will be carried out to promote the integration of academic research and social welfare undertakings, achieving resource sharing and complementing each other's strengths. Together, they aim to cultivate outstanding talents with interdisciplinary cooperation abilities, a global vision, compassion, and international competitiveness, thereby achieving global well-being. Tzu Chi University will engage in academic cooperation, joint faculty appointments, research development, and exchanges of library and information resources, all based on mutual benefits. Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital, on the other hand, will effectively utilize both parties' technologies, equipment, and other resources to support each other's medical and teaching research work. This collaboration aims to enhance the medical and educational standards in the Yunlin and Chiayi areas through long-term deep-rooted development and joint efforts to secure external resources.

President Shaw-Jenq Tsai of National Chung Cheng University stated at the signing ceremony that this cooperation would help improve the university's academic research standards and provide students with more opportunities to participate in charitable medical undertakings, apply their knowledge, and serve society. Tzu Chi has always been committed to promoting charity, medical care, education, and humanitarianism. This collaboration with National Chung Cheng University will further consolidate and expand its influence in these areas.

The signing ceremony was simple yet solemn, with representatives from the four parties signing the cooperation agreement, symbolizing the successful commencement of the collaboration. It is hoped that in the future, they can work hand in hand to achieve more substantive results in academic research, medical services, and charitable activities. The signing of this memorandum of cooperation is not only an important milestone for National Chung Cheng University and Tzu Chi's undertakings but also a significant opportunity for joint progress and service to society.
