National Chung Cheng University Partners with Amity University Mumbai to Launch a New Era of AI Innovation and Global Talent Development
National Chung Cheng University (CCU) in Taiwan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amity University Mumbai, India, marking a significant step forward in AI research and education collaboration. The MoU, a key outcome of CCU AI Research Center Director Prof. Pao-Ann Hsiung’s recent visit to India, underscores the commitment of both institutions to advancing international cooperation in AI. The signing ceremony, co-hosted by Prof. Pao-Ann Hsiung and Prof. Dr. Aruni Wilson Santhosh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Mumbai, signifies the establishment of a strong partnership in AI innovation, talent cultivation, and academic collaboration.
Under this agreement, Amity University Mumbai will establish an AI Research Center in collaboration with CCU’s AI Center, focusing on talent development, technology advancement, and academic research. India, with its vast pool of engineering talent and strong industry connections, provides a dynamic testing ground and collaborative opportunities for AI applications. Meanwhile, Taiwan’s strengths in foundational AI research and technological innovation, coupled with CCU’s robust research capabilities, lay a solid foundation for this partnership.
With a particular focus on generative AI applications, the collaboration will address global challenges such as smart healthcare, smart cities, and sustainable development. This includes advancements in Digital Twin Design technologies to support disaster management and decision-making, promoting sustainability and smart city construction. Joint research efforts will drive technological innovation and practical applications. Additionally, the partnership includes student exchange programs, short-term AI courses, and internship opportunities, to foster cross-cultural talent development. Indian students will have the chance to study AI technologies in Taiwan, while CCU students can gain firsthand experience in India’s rapidly evolving technology sector. Regular international conferences and technical forums are also planned to deepen academic exchange and technological collaboration.
Prof. Pao-Ann Hsiung, Director of the CCU AI Center, highlighted the importance of this partnership as a milestone in linking Taiwan’s and India’s technology and education sectors. “Combining Taiwan’s strengths in technological innovation with India’s diversity in industrial development and market scale, our collaboration will generate more innovative outcomes and provide new perspectives for global AI applications,” he stated. Prof. Dr. Aruni Wilson Santhosh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Mumbai, emphasized the significance of this partnership in cultivating AI professionals with a global perspective, driving shared growth in education and technology, and opening new horizons in international cooperation.
