To celebrate the anniversary of National Chung Cheng University, the university's Division of Student Life of the Office of Student Affairs, Office of Higher Education Sprout Project, and the general education course "Practice and Promotion of Morality and Communication Education" organized an event on October 25th entitled "Cultivating Love through Canoeing, Enhancing Communication with Frisbee." This event, which offered free canoeing and frisbee activities, we aimed to promote the idea that college students can love and benefit from each other in order to coexist and mutually prosper. A total of 70 students participated, bringing a positive social energy to the countryside of Chiayi.

Professor Lin Ming-jie from the Department of Criminology said that he has been counseling victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and addiction for 30 years, holding both psychologist and social worker credentials. As Chung Cheng University celebrated its 35th anniversary in Chiayi, this event aimed to help participating students cultivate a spirit of love through canoeing and understand that effective communication lies in consideration of others’ needs, which can help prevent conflicts.

This year also featured a special short historical play titled "Guardians of Dalin: Honoring the Past and Embracing the Present," in which 15 students portrayed militia members, Japanese soldiers, and civilians, together telling the story of local heroes from the Jian, Lin, and Huang families who defended their homeland in Dalin against Japanese invaders.

A student surnamed Liu expressed, "The short play allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the history of resistance against Japan," while one named Zhang added that he felt sympathy for the heroes, demonstrating that students were deeply moved by the struggles faced by their predecessors.

Lin Ming-jie emphasized that students could learn that humanity must love one another to create a lasting peace, and they should acquire communication skills to resolve conflicts.
