Empowering Leadership: National Chung Cheng University’s Club Culture Thrives Through Dynamic Workshops
National Chung Cheng University’s club activities enjoy a strong reputation both on and off campus, for their outstanding vitality. Currently, the university boasts nearly eighty student clubs, encompassing a wide variety of interests and contributing greatly to the vibrant campus life. This year’s orientation week featured the “Student Club Joint Performance,” an important platform for showcasing the talents and characteristics of various clubs, attracting a large number of participating students.
On the day of the event, numerous clubs took the stage, presenting performances from various interest groups, including music, dance, drama, martial arts, and calligraphy. They demonstrated diverse talents and endless creativity. Each performance was carefully prepared, reflecting the students' passion for arts and culture. Several clubs also created interactive spaces where students could experience activities firsthand, fostering deeper engagement between performers and attendees and encouraging wider participation in extracurricular activities to enrich campus life.
As the number of clubs increases, the demand for administration and equipment borrowing has become more urgent. To address these challenges, the Extracurricular Activities Division under the Student Affairs Office has meticulously prepared a two-day workshop for club leaders. This workshop was scheduled after the semester began, which did not interfere with their rest and studies.
During these two days of workshops, the two focuses are first, strengthening club leaders' understanding of club operations and administrative processes, and second, enhancing students’ planning skills. Both are to enable their planning and executing club activities more effectively. This workshop is designed with the goal of empowering students to gain practical skills and knowledge beyond their academic pursuits, achieving holistic growth. Additionally, through the club evaluation system, outstanding clubs will receive special recognition, which not only motivates clubs to continue improving but also gives participating students a sense of accomplishment and validation.
Ultimately, the workshop targets to cultivate students' sense of belonging to the university. This will also increase the effectiveness when promoting campus policies and activities around the campus in the future. This will enhance the cohesion of the clubs by helping students find their roles within the group, as the means to boost their confidence and sense of belonging. These efforts will ultimately promote the vibrant development of club culture at National Chung Cheng University, making it an indispensable part of student life. Through being recognized and rewarded for outstanding clubs, more students will invest themselves more in club activities.
