As the summer heat gradually subsides and the new semester begins, National Chung Cheng University is once again ready to welcome new students this September. The 2024 Autumn Arts and Cultural Events will feature six static exhibitions, seven lectures, five workshops, one large-scale outdoor drum and dance performance, and one indoor music performance. Additionally, there will be two tea parties held in conjunction with the exhibition and the Campus Architecture Expo and the launch of the university’s anniversary book. These rich cultural activities are sure to enhance the campus's artistic atmosphere.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of National Chung Cheng University, and to celebrate, the library has planned a series of exciting art exhibitions and performances from September to December. These include Seeking Enchanted Field: The Aerial Photography of Pó-tsu-ôo by Lee Chih-hao, The Life of Wandering in Art: A Painting Exhibition by Ho. M.T., an exhibition of landscape paintings and calligraphy from the library’s collection, and The Spectrum of Characters－Fablan Chiang's Portrait Series. During the anniversary period, Associate Professor Kuo Hsiu-Ling from the Department of History and her team will curate the Campus Architecture Expo and the launch of the university’s anniversary book in the Historical Exhibition Hall  on the 8th floor of the library. Continuing from the pressed flower exhibition in Spring 2024, we will hold an advanced pressed flower workshop this autumn, allowing students and faculty to experience the complete process of pressed flower creation. Another workshop, aligned with the campus architecture exhibition, will introduce participants to the classical cyanotype technique, combining architecture and plant elements. This autumn, the four universities under the Taiwan Comprehensive University System will also collaborate for the first time to host a national treasure master craftsman lecture tour.

In terms of dynamic performances, on the eve of the anniversary sports meet, a large outdoor performance will be held to celebrate the 35th anniversary. The library has invited the Ten Drum Art Percussion Group from Tainan to perform the drum and dance show "Heroes Gather" on Friday, October 25th, in the outdoor plaza on Phoenix Avenue, behind the library. To complement this performance, a series of lectures and workshops will be held on October 24th, the day before the performance, to deepen the faculty and students' understanding and appreciation of drum music. To make the experience even more enjoyable, the library will, for the first time, organize a campus food truck market on October 25th and 26th. This market will allow both faculty and students, as well as the public, to enjoy the scenic campus while attending the anniversary events, including the art performances, sports meet, and concert, in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Renowned food trucks from the Brand Mobile Food Truck Alliance will bring their popular dishes to the campus.

On November 25th, the Silk Bamboo Jazz Trio will be invited to perform a small indoor concert at the library. During Library Week in December, the library will once again collaborate with the campus bookstore to host the Campus Book Festival and Cultural and Creative Market.

The diverse arts and cultural activities planned by the library are designed to infuse the campus with vibrant cultural energy, attracting faculty, students, and art lovers from the Yunlin-Chiayi area to enjoy the beautiful campus. Together, they will celebrate the 35th anniversary of National Chung Cheng University and indulge in a series of exquisite autumn cultural feasts in the golden season of harvest.
