Chiayi County Youth Entrepreneurship Subsidy: CCU Student Start-up Teams Receive a Top Subsidy of TWD 400,000 as an Affirmation of Their Efforts

publish date : 2023-05-05

The Chiayi County Government initiated a program in 2022, aiming to attract young people back to their hometowns and create a welcoming environment for entrepreneurship. The program, which incentivizes young innovators and entrepreneurs, aims to help transform innovative ideas into actual products and services, thus generating market value. After fierce competition in the preliminary and secondary screening rounds, two teams guided by the Start-up Land of National Chung Cheng University (CCU) have received subsidies. Specifically, "OneFactorial Technology Ltd" has won a subsidy of TWD 140,000 in the Start-up category, while "Chivien's Ltd" has secured the highest subsidy of TWD 400,000 in the Business Optimization category.

In this competition, student start-up teams from CCU garnered two distinctions.  Notably, "OneFactorial Technology Ltd" recognized that in today's inflationary society, young people are becoming more financially conscious due to economic pressures. As a result, the team developed an innovative service application for mobile bookkeeping. By combining a minimalist and intuitive interface design with integration of the Ministry of Finance's E-Invoice Platform service, they significantly streamlined the process of financial tracking. This application also integrates with the Google Map API to pioneer a “traveling mode”, which allows users and their friends to keep records of shared expenses during their travels.

The other team that was awarded the highest subsidy is "Chivien's Ltd." They cater to the residents of Chiayi County with their distinctive dishes, specializing in delectable burritos that blend local ingredients with international flavors, aiming to establish themselves as a must-visit restaurant in Chiayi. Expanding on this objective, Chivien's Ltd is committed to creating more local employment opportunities, expanding its business scope, and continuously increasing its business revenue this year. To achieve these goals, they plan to introduce more technologically advanced systems to enhance personnel training, inventory management, and customer engagement. Moreover, they also aim to adopt the Amoeba Management System to expand their sales department.

Since its establishment, the Start-up Land at CCU has been continuously committed to mentoring student and youth entrepreneurship, integrating various developmental resources. These include entrepreneurial consulting services, professional technical lectures, and industry teacher mentoring systems. They have assisted numerous start-up teams in securing resources and taking their first steps toward achieving their dreams. The Start-up Land at CCU acknowledged that the abundant resources available on-site and the determination of the students have led to mutual growth, earning them recognition in the 2022 'Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Subsidy program.

Shin-Yuan Hung, the director of CCU's Start-up Land, stated that the entrepreneurship base devotes a wealth of resources to building an environment that allows students to confidently pursue their dreams. He encourages students with aspirations to strive for their goals, to find inspiration in daily life, and to plant the seeds of innovative entrepreneurship from their university stage onward. Director Hung also emphasized that the base integrates excellent teaching resources from within and outside the school and provides additional assistance resources to help students navigate the entrepreneurial journey more smoothly. Hung welcomes more students and alumni to participate and utilize the available resources. He expresses his firm belief and expectation that in the near future, we will see more teams originating from CCU earning even more recognition.
