The Center for General Education at National Chung Cheng University is dedicated to providing students with an all-encompassing education. Its mission is to cultivate well-rounded, open-minded individuals who are prepared to be responsible global citizens.
Inspired by the liberal arts tradition, our general education curriculum focuses on developing students' understanding of truth, goodness, beauty, and sanctity. We aim to help them adapt to societal changes, contribute to global sustainability, achieve personal and interpersonal balance, and explore the meaning of life.

The core objectives of our program are to:

• Provide a foundational understanding of humanity, society, and the natural world.
• Familiarize students with diverse academic fields, including their issues, methodologies, and perspectives.
• Enhance students' ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, fostering mature and critical thinking skills.

The Center offers a wide range of courses and resources to support these goals, including social practice programs, the Green University Project, interdisciplinary programs, and unique research labs. These offerings reflect our commitment to providing students with diverse and enriching learning opportunities.

Major Tasks

1. To plan the general education framework for our students, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded learning experience.
2. To assist various colleges in coordinating with their departments to determine the general education courses undergraduates should take, and to identify courses and faculty that can support general education.
3. To regularly convene meetings to review and approve general education course instructors and content.
4. To implement the Higher Education Sprout Project.
5. To manage affairs related to "Social Practice" courses.
6. To administer "Elite Program" related affairs.
